Fresh Japanese Knotweed Tincture - 1 oz
Japanese Knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum): Native to Eastern Japan, China and Korea, Japanese Knotweed is considered to be one of the most troublesome invasives in the US and several other countries. Its opportunitistic, rugged root systems spread easily yeilding dense thickets in a short amount of time. The young shoots are quite tasty, and make excellent fermented pickles. The roots are incredibly high in resveratrol, a strong antioxidant that has been studied for its efficacy in Lyme. We dig the fresh roots of a stand on our farm in the late fall or early spring when the resveratrol content is most concentrated. In TCM, Japanese Knotweed is said to be indicated to invigorate the Blood, clear heat, and resolve dampness.
