Fire Cider: Discover Nature's Immune Boosting Tonic*

With its unique blend of nature's finest ingredients, Fire cider, a potent immune tonic, has been cherished for centuries. This invigorating blend of herbs and spices, steeped in raw apple cider vinegar, is renowned for its health benefits. With various recipes passed down through generations, this traditional herbal tonic brings forward a fiery sense of vitality to keep you well. Our Fire Cider offers a tangy twist from traditional recipes with the addition of farm-direct seaberry, a perennial shrub that yields antioxidant-rich fruits that are hardy to our colder Vermont climate.

We love incorporating Fire Cider into our daily rhythms - it's a fun and flavorful way to ensure your immune system gets a boost throughout the year! We thought we'd share just some of the reasons why Fire Cider is a staple in our home apothecary and why it should be in yours, too!

A Brief History

Fire cider has roots in traditional herbal medicine, where it was used to ward off colds and boost vitality. Its popularity surged in the 1970s, thanks to herbalist Rosemary Gladstar, who introduced it as a natural wellness remedy during a modern renaissance of interest in herbal medicine. More recently, Rosemary, along with two other talented herbalists, brought more attention to Fire Cider as they sued a for-profit company that attempted to trademark the name “Fire Cider." In a case now referred to as “Tradition Not Trademark”, the Fire Cider Three successfully testified in court to reclaim the name “Fire Cider” as one that can't be trademarked, thus liberating it for continued use amongst herbalists and makers. We are deeply indebted to these brave herbalists for protecting tradition and the lineage of herbalists over the generations.
